Katrien Van Laere

Katrien is working on several projects, such as CoRe and WANDA. Themes she works on are community-based out-of-schoolcare and diversity and professionalism. She is co-coordinator of the DECET workpack professionalism and diversity.  

 

Katrien started as a co-coordinator of a European Social Fund project ecce ama! and participated with several European partners, in the transnational 'Equal' project Improving Childcare. In order to disseminate the results of this project she coordinated in 2008 the international ecce ama! conference in Brussels.

 

Katrien worked at the department of Social Welfare of the Ghent University as a researcher in the European Commission study on Competences in Early Childhood Education (CoRe research project). Besides she collaborates with Artevelde University college Ghent on a transnational project WANDA, financed by the European Social Fund (ESF). This methodology is is based on the French methodology 'Analyse de Pratique'

 

She is also involved in action research projects on community-based out-of-schoolcare and accessible childcare with repect for diversity for each child, parent and professional.

 

Together with Dr. Jan Peeters, Katrien is leading the DECET workpack professionalism and diversity.
