Grundtvig 2 is a project between European partners for training and supporting parents. Participants could exchange experiences, practice and methods. This helped creating a greater awareness of diversity in Europa and a better understanding of mutual interests.
Target group
Lullaby for Hamza pays a visit to four European childcare provisions. They have an inspiring and well-considered approach towards diversity. Both staff and parents shape the pedagogical idea in a creative way with respect for diversity. It is a fascinating, touching and playful movie.
The film and manual included are fit for training courses, team discussions and parent meetings. It might add to developing a pedagogical vision, improving practice and updating quality policy.
The first years in the life of children is the period in which the development of their identity should be encouraged and reinforced. It is also the time to make them aware of diversity in a positive sense. Childcare provisions are able to welcome children from different social, cultural and religious backgrounds. They can embrace diversity as a part of life.
The task division between fathers and mothers has changed immensely over the last decades. We can put it into practice for childcare as well. This brochure wants to sensitize childcare staff to father's participation. Readers discover why it is useful to make parent's participation a 'father issue'. At the same time this publication is a practical instrument: childcare provisions can use it to self evaluate their practice. By doing this they get a realistic view of parent's participation in their work. The place of fathers is discussed thoroughly.
