Grundtvig 2: Parents participation & diversity

Grundtvig 2 is a project between European partners for training and supporting parents. Participants could exchange experiences, practice and methods. This helped creating a greater awareness of diversity in Europa and a better understanding of mutual interests.

The view of the Yeti promotes a pedagogical approach that respects diversity within our society. It is a coherent vision on education, that bases itself on supporting the confidence of the child, no matter what his background, religion, skin colour or family situation is. At the same the book stresses that every child should live in solidarity with other children.

Toolkit: Documentation on Families (eng/du)

This toolkit (poster, game, dvd) wants to encourage the exchange of information, communication and mutual understanding between parents and childcare. The poster shows a range of diverse families and children. The game allows teams to discuss opinions on goals, methods and the principles of documentation on families. The dvd contains information on the purpose of family documentation.

Childcare staff can use this material as a guide for collection documentation on families.

Lullaby for Hamza (du/fr/eng/ger/sp)

Lullaby for Hamza pays a visit to four European childcare provisions. They have an inspiring and well-considered approach towards diversity. Both staff and parents shape the pedagogical idea in a creative way with respect for diversity. It is a fascinating, touching and playful movie.

The film and manual included are fit for training courses, team discussions and parent meetings. It might add to developing a pedagogical vision, improving practice and updating quality policy.

It is also the time to make them aware of diversity in a positive sense. Childcare provisions are able to welcome children from different social, cultural and religious backgrounds.
